Every year, if you are a student in Years 11 and 12 at Mount Aspiring College, you have the opportunity to select your own class. Your English teachers create exciting new programmes, each of which follows a specific line of enquiry. In addition to referring to their experience from previous years, students can use this site to help them make your decision, and we also create course selection booklets to assist you – these are available further down this page.
I love this website, Christopher! Tino pai to mahi. I’m into my 11th year teaching English (etc) and agree with your sentiment entirely. Will share your ‘1984’ with my Yr 13s and let me know if you’d like a few resources in return (Slideshows: Intro to Utopian & Dystopian literature; Intro to ‘1984’; Intro to ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’; stuff on ‘The Tempest’ & ‘Children of Men’ + Independent Novel Assignments @ L2 and 3). Maybe see you at the Waitangi conference? Nicola – Kāpiti College.
Hi Nicola. How wonderful to hear from you and to receive such enthusiastic praise. I’m mighty honoured.
Yes! My colleague Renee and I are both going to be at the Waitangi conference. We’re presenting even. Would be lovely to see you there – and your resources sound wonderful, I’m always interested in the work others do, please do send anything our way that you feel ok to share!
