Hugo’s Dramatic Monologue. Friar Lawrence

As part of our study of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the students learned and performed a soliloquy or dramatic monologue from the play. Here’s an example of this work by Hugo Darby.

Assessment: “I am Fortune’s Fool” – Fate and Free Will in Romeo and Juliet

A culmination of our longitudinal study of the action of fate in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. This collection of board captures records the students’ observations and supports the writing of a literary essay expanding on their ideas of the action of fate in the play and how it is revealed by Shakespeare via the means of Plot, Language, Dialogue, Structure and Dramatic Devices.

Romeo and Juliet – Soliloquy Schedule

Everyone in the class is presenting a soliloquy that they’ve learned by heart live to class. Each period for the next fortnight will include three of these, according to the following schedule.
